When the Capri first came into production in 1969 the
slogan given to it to help launch the car was 'the car you always promised
yourself '. As the years went by the Capri took off in a big way. During
those years the Capri was bought by a variety of people of all ages and
all types of occupations. It was because of its: stylish looks and variety
of engine sizes that it appealed to the car buying public.
During its production many Special Editions were made
and were eagerly sort out by enthusiastic Capri owners. Unfortunately,
the Capri was given a bad name due to the interest shown in this car by
young people, who had either just passed their tests and were looking for
a sporty coupe: or the young person out to prove thlemselves in a fast
car, in this case the Capri was clearly always first choice. This meant
that a lot of Capri's in good condition when bought were either written
off or used for racing or spares. The Capri was therefore given the 'Boy
Racers' image which has stuck to it ever since.
A group of enthusiasts have got together to run a club
which caters for all types of Capri's from concours/cnndition to being
in primer or in different stages of repair and still on the road. The clubs
aim is to bring the owner and his Capri together with other like minded
members to talk about and share their experience regarding their Capri
and its maintenance and perhaps modifcation if carried out.
There are companies which give the club member discount
for their products and can also offer their services if required. Shows
are held regulary for the member to show his or her Capn to the general
public. Many members think nothing of packing their Capri with camping
gear and going to a good weekend event.

and growing club please do not hesitate tcr contact The
