[Club contact]

Thank you for your interest in our Club, I'm certain that you will not be disappointed with A.C.I.
I expect that one of your first questions would be

"What does Allegro Club International have to offer me ?".

You will be joining the ONLY club dedicated to the Austin Allegro in all its variants, and which is recognised by the Rover Group, A.A., R.A.C. and all motoring magazines. We are an informal, friendly group of people who would like to see the cars continue to be used into the future.

Members' cars range from Concours to One-foot-in-the-grave, some people don't even own an Allegro, so I'm sure we can fit you in.

Benefits of the club include:

Our club magazine "Quartic", named after the "square" steering wheel on early models. Over 20 pages of Allegro information, anecdotes, members' letters and all sorts of Allegro news; it's our main way of keeping in touch with each other. With "Quartic" comes the latest details of used cars, parts for sale and wanted, stories, jokes and technical articles. It's a friendly magazine, well edited and known to be filled with good material - the envy of many other car clubs.

We have a Spares Service for our members and A.C.I. holds over £40,000 (gbp) worth of Allegro parts at Rover Group prices; these we sell more cheaply to our members. A complete Allegro door costs some £250(gbp) from Rover but is available to an A.C.I. member for around £50(gbp). Or if you would like the little rubber buffers for the front corners of your bonnet these are available for a few pence for the pair...... We can also offer advice and access to some second-hand parts.

Regalia offered by the Club is all of good quality and can be inspected at most of the Club events, available regalia is described in "Quartic" and can be ordered by post. Money spent on regalia is ploughed back into the Club and most of the items have the advantage of making the member more conspicuous, in subtle or less subtle ways. It's surprising what benefits can come of being identified as a Club member and an Allegro enthusiast.

The Club has a comprehensive archive of brochures, test reports, manuals, press photos and all sorts of ephemera concerning the Allegro. For any query about appearance, specification, trim or history a member can contact the Club's Archivist.

A.C.I. has a used Allegro Register, if a member needs another Allegro of a particular type and price then they can make free use of this service. We are often approached by folk who need to sell an Allegro. Also if you wish to sell your Allegro - hopefully to buy another - any member can advertise their Allegro, or spares for one, free of charge. Just send details to the Used Car Registrar.

If, as an A.C.I. member, you would like to display your Allegro at a Car Show you can contact the Events Co-ordinator. It matters little what condition your car is in as we are not a Club obsessed with showpiece cars, you can even attend without a car. A.C.I. also organises several events each year including our ever popular Club picnic. Our ideas for the future depend on members' support and include rallies and visits, our National Event for 1997 is at The Old Warden Aerodrome, Nr. Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, England in August 1997, regional events and who knows what else ?

We find that many folk would like to meet up with other A.C.I. members and their cars. Having said that, we really need more people to attend and/or volunteer to arrange local Club gatherings around the country. If there is no local meeting in your area we invite you to join A.C.I. and try to set one up, we'll be happy to help in whatever way possible.

As you can see Allegro Club International "trades" under the umbrella of a Limited Liability Company but this is strictly for administrative purposes. There are no shareholders and any profits are used to promote the Club's "Aims and Objectives" as set out in the Club 'Conditions of Membership'. All Club office holders are unpaid and voluntary, being elected annually from the membership.

The cost of Club Membership for one whole year is £13(gbp), only 25p per week, and a once only £7(gbp) enrolment fee is charged to cover the cost of your A.C.I. badge and the initial administration. From the date your fee is received you will benefit from a full year's membership of A.C.I.

I hope that this information has answered your main questions but please don't hesitate to raise any others when you apply for membership of Allegro Club International. Please include a first class stamp with your name & address and write to The Membership Secretary.

Allegro Club International is a limited company registered in England and Wales. No. 3139770. Reg. Office: The Priory, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN1 1JJ
